Serves 2-4 as a side. Preparation time 5 mins, cooking time about 12 mins


  • 800 – 900g Maris Piper potatoes or similar (peeled and cut into small pieces and rinsed)
  • 4tbsp African Lemon, Garlic & Pepper Sauce
  • 100ml of milk
  • 20g of butter/margarine
  • salt


Place potatoes in a pan and cover with water and add a few pinches of salt. Bring to the boil and cook until potatoes are just beginning to break apart (10- 12 mins). Place the milk and butter/margarine in a non-metallic bowl and microwave for about 1 min. Meanwhile, drain the potatoes and return to the pan. Mash the potatoes till smooth and then mix in the milk/butter mixture and followed by the Lemon, Garlic & Pepper sauce. Check for salt and then serve with your main.
