Our very latest piece of news is the launch today of our brand new sauce- “Sweet Baobab Hot Sauce” which contains the unique African “super fruit” baobab. The sauce has notes of sweetness, tartness, heat underpinned by some very complimentary herbs and spices. Like all our hot sauces, it can be used straight out of the bottle on meat, fish, vegetable or tofu dishes; used in marinades, stir-fries or to make dips. Try a bottle and let us know what you think.
Baobab fruit powder is a pale powder that forms naturally inside the fruits of the baobab tree (Adansonia digitata) which is indigenous to many parts of mainland Africa and also popularly known as “The Upside Down Tree”. It has an exotic tangy flavour and is exceptionally nutritious containing high natural levels of antioxidants, essential minerals including calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, vitamin C and zinc. We are very excited about this ingredient which is increasingly being used in a variety of foods in the West. It is already making an appearance in lots of health drinks and smoothies and has been used for some time by some great chefs like our friend Peter Gordon. We hope to launch more baobab products soon. In the meantime, please come and taste the sauce yourself at one of our market stalls or grab a bottle from one of our stockists or our website.

We loved the Fiery Foods Festival which we attended in September. Lots of new fans and customers and some great new friends amongst the other great artisan food producers we met. We are definitely planning to be at next year’s event.
